The annual Round the Island Race, which started back in 1930 is a one-day yacht race around the Isle of Wight, situated off the south coast of England. This year’s race had a number of incidents keeping the Island RNLI crews and Coastguard Rescue Officers busy as one 45 ft. monohull capsized, a trimaran capsized and by the end of the one-day race there were 19 MOB, 2 helicopter evacuations, and 20+ crew ending up in the hospital.
