The Ocean Cruising Club (OCC) is hoping that a number of boats will be able to join in for a gentle cruise in company around of the Isle of Jura, Scotland from July 14th to the 20th, 2013. For those that don’t know the area this is a stunning cruising area with ferocious tidal races and wonderful wild anchorages. A region steeped in history with fascinating geology and spectacular wildlife. These are our home waters and we are looking forward to showing folk around.
The Rendezvous
Sally and I look forward to welcoming everyone to our home on Sunday July 14th.
During the afternoon there will be drinks and snacks and in the evening we will either provide supper or a BBQ depending on the Argyll weather and the number of midges!
Boats can be moored at Craobh Haven marina and there are a couple of charter companies operating from Craobh should people wish to charter. If the weather is settled then some may choose to anchor in the bay in front of our house but anchoring in the region of our mooring is not advised as this region of the seabed seems to occupied by dumped agricultural junk.
The adjacent chart shows Craobh marina and our house, Traiguhaine, is marked in the top right hand corner.
