Congratulations to Ted Hriska, Camden, NJ, who correctly answered last week’s question on sound signals in fog.. He emailed: “If you are underway in limited visibility, you should give two long blasts of the ship’s horn every two minutes. If you are at anchor, you should ring the ship’s bell rapidly for five seconds every minute. With radar and AIS, lots of vessels seem to ignore both of these rules of the road.”
