(NPR.org) – There are 4 people currently sailing nonstop, solo around the world in the Golden Globe Race. Sixteen entrants started last September, Kirsten Neuschafer pictured above onboard Minnehaha is the current leader. Unlike other races around the world, this one allows no laptops or electronic charts, radar or sophisticated weather routing. The winner gets approximately $6,000.
