(Chesapeake Bay Magazine) – Rebecca T. Ruark, built in 1886 is the Chesapeake Bay’s oldest surviving skipjack. On December 27, 2022 a 1997 truck driven by a drunk driver ran through a piling at Dogwood Harbor on Tilghman Island where the skipjack was tied up. The truck landed on the starboard portion of the stern taking out a railing, davits and GPS. Boat carpenters are coming to look at the damage and the plan is to have her fixed. Read more.
