(usatoday.com) – A Wisconsin couple took a year to complete the 6,000 mile Great Loop, going down the Mississippi River to the Gulf of Mexico, around Florida up the East Coast to the New York state canals into Canada, completing their voyage this past September in Lake Michigan.
Only about 150 boats and 200 people complete this journey each year compared to the 700 people that climb Mount Everest. The couple used their 33-foot boat, the Alvin James. Read more.
