There has been a great deal of talk about storm surges these past few weeks so what exactly is a storm surge.
NOAA and the National Hurricane Center described the storm surge as an abnormal rise of water generated by a storm over and above the predicted astronomical tides, not to be confused with storm tide. Read more.
