Wind vane self steering devices have been steering cruising boats offshore using only the wind  and water for power for 75  years. Do you use a wind vane steering system? Would you use one for sailing offshore? 

 

Thank you to all readers who took the time to fill out last week’s survey on sunscreens. By the response, this is a topic of real interest to readers. 59% take sun protection very seriously; 32% take it somewhat  seriously; while 8% are not concerned about UV skin damage.  Regarding SPF sunscreens used by readers regularly, 45% use SPF 50 and  48% use SPF 30.  5% of reader don’t use a rated SPF cream.
