I spent Wednesday morning at the Salty Dawg Sailing Association annual Seminar at Mears Marina in Annapolis, MD giving a talk on preparations for offshore sailing and hanging out with the 75 attendees. The group was enthusiastic to say the least because fully three quarters of them are sailing south to the Caribbean from Hampton, VA and Essex, CT this fall with the Salty Dawg Fall Rally. Most have never sailed far offshore before. So, they were listening carefully and taking notes.
There are a lot cruisers and sailors in Annapolis for America’s largest all sail show that starts today (Thursday). The show is coming together but you would never believe that everyone will have their booths ready and their boats all cleaned up in time. Somehow it all comes together.
I hope you will stop by our booth in the show at AB 12. You can sign up for BWS at a discount and make sure you are getting Cruising Compass every week as you should. And if you are on you way south this fall, here’s to fair winds and following seas.
