On March 4, a container ship in rough weather off Cape Hatteras lost more that 70 containers into the sea. Some of the containers have washed up onto the nearby beaches, but more are still our there and most have not and will not sink, These huge steel boxes are a serious threat to any vessels in the region and containers that get swept into the Gulf Stream will be a potential hazard for yachts, fishing boats and small ships.
