The Caribbean Security and Safety Net has published its annual report on yacht crime in the Caribbean in 2016.
While total reported incidents were essentially unchanged 2014 to 2015 (74/77), in 2016 we recorded a 17% increase (77/90). Both violent crimes (assault, piracy, robbery) and nonviolent crimes (burglary, theft, vandalism) showed similar increases.
