Having just been at the Catana factory in Canet en Roussillion, France, I started thinking about something I really don’t completely understand.
In an era when fuel is so outrageously expensive, when will megayacht owners realize that megacats are just as opulent, AND they can sail really fast? There are two abandoned 90′ hulls outside Catana, and I just don’t get why they haven’t continued pushing this segment. There are some notable supercats–like Deuce France, the new Gunboat 90′–and a number of real luxury cats that are huge, too.
Richard Branson, the famous Brit billionaire, owns a 105′ carbon cruising cat. It is called Necker Belle, and it looks pretty cool! Check it out:
