Show Time
With a new year, comes a fresh and hopeful outlook for the sailing industry. Boat builders are launching exciting vessels into their fleets, sailing gear and electronics are re-vamped and ready for another year on the market and sailors in the tropics are enjoying balmy breezes while those in the north can only dream of such things as they round the bouys during a Sunday frostbite race.
Whether you live in the north or south and whether you are a racer or cruiser, chances are you can make it to a winter/spring boat show this year. And why not? Winter is the best time for boat shows, especially in cold climates as they encourage hibernating sailors to emerge and get excited about the upcoming boating season. If you weren’t thinking about attending a show this winter, scour the pages of Cruising Compass over the next few weeks and find a sailboat show near you. You won’t be disappointed.
Enjoy this week’s edition.
Cheers,
Andrew Cross
