The Salty Dog Rally will be getting underway from Tortola, BVI on May 15. As of April 24, 14 boats were signed up for the passage in company. Several of the boats will be sailing to Bermuda before heading back to the East Coast while others will be making the trip to the States in one hop with several heading directly to Hampton, Virginia, which is the rally’s home and the venue for the southbound rally in the fall. The rally is free to all participants and managed by volunteers Bill and Linda Knowles (and their Jack Russell Brie) aboard their Jeanneau 54 Sapphire. Hello Bill and Linda:
I will be heading North from the BVIs to NYC via Bermuda about two weeks later than your group. Our departure date is set for June 2. We are delivering a friends boat eventually all the way back to Wisconsin. It has been in a charter fleet for several years and is getting a little old for the likes of the people who handle the bookings. So North to the Great Lakes she comes.
I was wondering if we could be included in any materials you are planning to distribute to your group. We would be glad to cover any costs that you would incur by adding us to your group. Please let me know if this is possible. Thank You.
Capt. Dan Siedlecki
Safe sailing. We will move Special Delivery back to Annapolis in mid-June. She is now for sale at a loss – 695k as we no longer use her.
