Harken Expands Eco Line to Include More Women’s Products

Why should the guys get all the good stuff? Harken rounded out its popular eco-friendly lines this season with women’s styles of Ballistic Eco Padded Shorts and Moda Fleece Jacket.

“There just aren’t that many options when it comes to form-fitting technical clothes for women, so you usually have to choose between beach wear or a men’s cut,” says Harken Sport Manager Heidi Harken. “With items like our padded Ballistic Eco shorts we hope to fix that. Our flattering women’s cut incorporates the same performance and fabric that made our men’s shorts such a hit.”

Women’s Ballistic Eco Shorts include a diamond crotch gusset for mobility, extra-deep hand pockets, a zippered leg pocket, two back pockets, a semi-elastic waistband, double-stitched seams, YKK zippers, and removable foam padding. They are made from an environmentally friendly blend of ballistic nylon, bamboo charcoal-infused polyester, and spandex. In addition to 4-way stretch and abrasion resistance, this Harken-exclusive technical fabric dries quickly, breathes, wicks moisture, is antimicrobial, and has a soft-brushed interior that helps regulate temperature. The shorts offer UPF 50+ UV protection and are available in sizes 25 to 38 in the colors Carbon and Sand.

The women’s Moda Fleece jacket is the perfect layer all year round. The lightweight anti-pill fleece is warm and comfortable, regulating body temperature with a strategic combination of midweight fleece over core body areas with highly breathable and wicking Tactel panels in hot zones. Mesh lining in the sleeves and an athletic fit make layering a breeze. It has zippered hand pockets and a shoulder pocket and is available in Black in sizes XS to XL.
