If you’ve got a basement or garage cluttered with boat “stuff” that you aren’t using anymore, this could be a great way to clear it out for a good cause.
The Casco Bay Chapter of the Maine Maritime Academy Alumni Association is currently seeking donations of nautical items for their annual Marine Flea Market.
The event, to be held March 16 to 18 in conjunction with the upcoming Maine Boat Builders Show at the Portland Company Complex, serves as a fundraiser for chapter-sponsored support of MMA programs and student scholarships.
According to organizers, the event is the largest marine flea market in New England and promises a find for almost every nautical enthusiast. Donations of marine-related items are currently being solicited by volunteers and include boats, motors, sails, rigging, radars, marine radios, life vests, brass propellers, marine toilets and stoves, marine fittings and unopened marine paint.
If donors are unsure of the suitability of their items, volunteers for the event will be happy to provide a consultation. They are also available for home or business pickup. To make a donation, contact David Fenderson at firstname.lastname@example.org or 207-781-4240, or David Witherill at email@example.com or 207-829-3046.
