HIYC of Cuba Welcomes All Cruisers for 20th Anniversary

We think this would be amazing to participate in, but we want to remind readers of all nationalities to check into the details and legalities of cruising to Cuba.

On May 21st, the Hemingway International Yacht Club of Cuba (HIYC of Cuba) will be celebrating its 20th anniversary, and the international sailing community is invited by Commodore Escrich to participate. The first activity was the attempt by American Diana Nyad to swim across the Straits of Florida between Havana and Key West.

In addition to multiple seminars and celebrations, events will include Optimist, Laser, Hobie Cat and cruising boat races; jet ski, canoe and kayak races; and a shore fishing tournament at Havana Seafront.

Check the yacht club’s website for more information and a full list of events: www.hemingwayyachtclub.com.
