Chocolate Peanut Butter Rice Krispie Treats

We promise, you’ll thank us for this one!

1 package semi-sweet morsels (I like the mini ones because they melt faster)
1 ½ cups of chunky peanut butter
3 cups of Rice Krispies
1 tbsp. butter

Melt the chocolate morsels in a double boiler or create your own with a pot of boiling water and a glass or metal bowl on top (be sure to have an oven mitt handy as they will get hot). Stir regularly until completely melted. Add peanut butter and stir until it is thoroughly blended with chocolate. Remove from heat and add Rice Krispies, blending until the mixture reaches a consistent texture. Grease brownie pan with butter (do not use cooking spray). Spread mixture evening into pan and refrigerate for approximately two hours or until mixture is completely set.

Remove baking dish from refrigerator and cut into squares with a sharp knife.

This is very good although a little sweet and rich for us. I make the same without the peanut butter too. I use milk chocolate (like Merkins) at 1.5 cups. I melted both the pb (1.5 minutes on high) and choc. ( 2 min on high) in the microwave then mixed with rice crispies.I think next time perhaps 1 cup of p butter. Thanks for the idea Pete
