Harbor School Regatta Benefit

Want to race a 12 Meter? Here’s your chance…for a price (but it’s all to benefit a good cause).

Hundreds of leaders and key figures from New York’s media, finance, law, education and maritime industries will race historic America’s Cup 12 meters and J24s at the first annual Harbor School Regatta at Governors Island to benefit the inner-city students of New York City’s only public maritime high school: The Urban Assembly New York Harbor School. The Regatta will serve as the opening event for New York Classics Week and the final social event of the season on Governors Island.

Fans can cheer on the sailors from luxury spectator boats in New York Harbor with commentary from MSNBC’s Willie Geist. Following the Regatta, sailors and spectators will head to the Post-Regatta BASH at Water Taxi Beach on Governors Island for Gosling’s Dark n’ Stormies, Fishers Island Oysters and other specialties as they take in the Harbor School Regatta awards ceremony, live music, and late summer views of downtown Manhattan.

100% of funds raised will benefit the Harbor School College Scholarship Fund to support the students of New York Harbor School as they pursue higher education.

America’s Cup 12 meter sponsorship: $15,000; includes twelve race spots with gear kits for each sailor from Vineyard Vines; twelve spots on the luxury spectator boat and 24 tickets to the Post-Regatta BASH.

Manhattan Sailing Club J24s: $5,000; includes four race spots with gear kits for each sailor from Vineyard Vines; four spots on the luxury spectator boat and eight tickets to the Post-Regatta BASH
