The Strictly Sail Pacific boat show is all set to get underway starting next Thursday, April 14th through Sunday the 17th. This is the biggest West Coast sailing show, so it attracts the top exhibitors from around the country.
Once again, Blue Water Sailing Media is the sponsor of the free seminar series that Sail America puts on for attendees. The list of speakers this year is truly amazing, including headliners Zac and Abby Sunderland and John Neal and Amanda Swan Neal, rigger Brian Ross, Bay Area sailing guru Kame Richards, and circumnavigators Pam Wall, Nancy Erley and Liza Copeland. Plus, there are many more speakers who will offer seminars on topics from navigation to weather forecasting to safety and seamanship.
Of special interest to multihull enthusiasts will be the three-hour seminar on Friday the 15th on “Catamaran Cruising From Start to Finish,” put on by multihull expert and president of The Multihull Company Phil Berman. For more information on the show and the seminar schedule, visit www.strictlysailpacific.com.
BWS and Cruising Compass are offering advance tickets for $2 off the regular price. Just click here. Alternatively, you can enter “BWS” in the promotional code box on the “Purchase Tickets” page of the Strictly Sail Pacific website.

My wife and I learned a bunch when we attended John and Amanda’s seminar in Chicago some years ago. We were just starting to get serious about buying our boat. I spent something like $300 to engage John’s help in the process. That was the best $300 I have every spent! Wait until you see the checklist he gives you to help with your boat selection. Their years of cruising experience really shows, just in the checklist. After going over the checklist with John you really get to pick his brains about the details involved in your decision.
If you are seriously thinking about buying a cruising boat – attend the seminar and sign up for John’s consultation service.
