Great news for smartphone-using cruisers– Raymarine and Navionics have announced the latest version of Navionics Mobile with Plotter Sync technology. Plotter Sync enables the wireless exchange of navigation data between Raymarine’s E-Series Widescreen and G-Series navigation displays along with popular mobile devices like the Apple iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad. Waypoint location, route plans and favorite anchorages can be instantly synchronized using Wi-Fi technology, allowing Raymarine owners to easily plan their next voyage within the Navionics Mobile app.
The Navionics Mobile app extends the convenience of these devices to cruisers with instant access to Navionics award-winning marine charts, satellite images and POI (Points of Interest) database. Navionics Mobile lets sailors explore and share their favorite destinations with Facebook friends. Once onboard the boat, data stored in the Navionics Mobile app can be synchronized with the Raymarine navigation displays using a simple Wi-Fi connection.
To get started with Navionics Mobile and Raymarine products, users simply need to add a Wi-Fi router to their Raymarine network. Raymarine offers full instructions on how to set up Plotter Sync at www.raymarine.com/plottersync. The Navionics Mobile Marine and Lakes application is available in the iTunes Store for Apple devices for $9.99.
