Post Sailing destinations for holidays

For those that sailing combines a challenging sport with ideal holidays with friends and family, Greece is an ideal place to visit. The thousands islands laying in the different seas, the abundance of ancient monuments, the diversification of landscapes and the safety of the sea are only few of the factors that make Greece an ideal destination for saiing.

You may choose to rent a sailing yacht from the experts, or visit Greece with your own sailboat. You may choose to sail in the demanding 'field' of central Aegean Sea (up to 7-8 beauforts or more, up to 4-5 meters of waves) or the relaxed sea of Ionia Sea. You can combine the busy night life in the main islands (the reputation of Mykonos, Santorini and Corfu is worldwide) with the isolated bays in any island and enjoy private holidays. You can combine your sailing experience with a short staying in Athens or any other place to have a tour in the famous Athens Acropolis and visit the place where democracy and sciences were born. In all cases, pleasure and memories will be unforgetable.

Well, I didn't get too much response to my suggestion of Greece as a sailing destination. I encourage you to find 'Up Greek Tourism' (non profit campaign for Greece) in facebook and get there more information about holidays in Greece. Sailingreekwaters would only be more specific on sailing.

However, in other places I recognized people were angry or dissapointed about Greece and the current financial crisis. So, I would like to ask people here whether they would be affected negatively by financial developments in Greece when choosing their sailing and holidays destination...

Regards,
