Miami International Boat Show and Strictly Sail Round-Up
The show is coming to a close after a full-four days of non-stop action. Although the final numbers are not yet in from the NMMA, visitors were plenty. From the vantage point of the BWS/Cruising Compass booth, we could see folks eagerly handing over their boat-bucks for all kinds of gear, knickknacks, sailboat training courses and of course, beer!
New Gear
Blue Water Sailing Editors got a first-time look at the new Nav gear from Raymarine, With larger, higher resolution displays, increased performance, expanded networking and video integration, the new Widescreen technology can bring the same home theater quality widescreen viewing that all of us want to your helm! Be sure to look for the review of the new C-Series Widescreen line in the magazine and watch the video of our on-the-water-test sail.

New Boats
On display this year were a couple of new entries to the Catamaran club:
The Silhouette 760 Catamaran by Matrix Yachts out of Cape Town, SA - entering the luxury yacht class with a beautiful, and very spacious design. It features all the luxury normally found only on mega-poweryachts combined with ease in sailing - making for one fast cat! Look for a review soon in BWS.

Corsair, makers of performance trimarans introduced plans for their 50 Ft Performance Cruising Catamaran. Still in the works, and not available yet for us to see - up close, the newest entry to the medium-class cat market, looks to be a terrific addtition to the South Aftican Catamaran club.
"LIfe Begins at 55" is the new mantra at Kadey-Krogen. Making it's debut here in Miami, "INVICTUS" which had just won PassageMaker Magazine's People's Choice Award at the Trawler Fest last month, is the newest addition to the excellent family of capable trawlers. The Krogen 55 Expedition was a definite hit with the cruising-under-power audience.
