A most unique member of the sailing community has dropped anchor in his final harbor.
The following is from his sister:
John F. Bryan(also known as John St. John) passed away this morning at his firend Dan's home in Vancleave MS. After 14 years of many harbors and adventures he had to batten down the hatches on the Adhara in Culebra, PR and came back to Mississippi with Dan five weeks ago. John had metastatic malignant melanoma which is a very aggressive cancer. He had only been diagnosed five months earlier and didn't want anyone to know. His death is hard for us all but it was a real blessing in that he is no longer in pain and is in a better place. Everywhere he went John either had a firend or he made one and I know he has friends everywhere.
So now our challenge is to find them and let them know. I am his sister Jeannie and I am sending you this from his Yahoo account. John will be missed but his music and spirit lives on. He taught us all an important life lesson- and he lived that lesson- "live your life to the fullest and don't wait for "some day".
Fair winds and following seas John.

Three will be a visitation at O'Bryant O'keefe funeral home in Vancleave Monday the 23rd from 6-8 and an Irish wake memorial at Huck's, a local watering holebar and grill in Gautier, MS where John has played- that is scheduled for next Saturday, Feb. 28th. We have his music and videos of a gig he played there last summer. We'd love to have you come and share your John stories.
For more information on the memorial, you can check the his web site at www.john-saint-john.com I will also continue to check his email.
All the Best
